Hello, and welcome to my Virtual Lesson Studio! I understand every student learns, absorbs, and digests information in different ways and at different paces, and so my plan is to get the most out of our time together based on figuring out each students’ specific needs.
Over my 15 years as a teacher and 20 years as a performer I’ve learned how to become efficient with practice time and how to identify areas of potential growth. My goal is to have all of my students leave every practice session with a sense of accomplishment.
In our Virtual Lessons, each student will get a personalized lesson plan that addresses the things most pressing in their musical development. I’ll also help the student set and achieve both short and long term musical goals, as well as prepare them for any auditions and/or competitions that may be on the horizon.
I believe in a well-rounded musical education, so lesson topics will include:
- Technique Studies
- *Woodwind Fundamentals (sound production, embouchure, articulation)
- Learning Repertoire (Classical, Jazz Standards, etc.)
- Vocabulary
- Reading
- Rhythm Development
- Music Theory
- Transcriptions
- Composition
- Improvisation
- Learning how to integrate material into a unique musical language
- Finding an individual voice on the instrument(s)
*Woodwind Fundamentals is open to saxophone, clarinet, and flute students at all levels, and all other topics are open to all instruments.
If you sign up now, you can submit a short video and get a personalized feedback video from me detailing some things we’ll work on. Message me for rates and scheduling.
I’m looking forward to working with you!
