Description
The Goldberg Variations for Saxophone Duos, Trios, and Quartets was a project born out of the Covid-19 pandemic. By playing and recording the individual piano lines separately and splicing them together with recording software, I found a fun and challenging way to adapt one of my favorite piano works for saxophone.
The score comes complete with an ornamentation glossary, as well as part booklets for Soprano Saxophone, Alto Saxophone 1, 2, 3, and a Tenor Saxophone book as an alternative to the Alto 3 part. I hope you will have as much fun with this piece as I did and enjoy one of Bach’s greatest works.
“Alex LoRe has meticulously arranged and adapted one of Bach’s most justifiably famous pieces, the Goldberg Variations, in a pleasing edition that is primarily focused for alto and soprano saxophones. Detailed explanations of 18th Century ornaments are very helpful, as well as a written-out ossia part for the top melodic line. LoRe’s edition will make an excellent addition to the library of any saxophonist wanting to accurately perform the music of J.S. Bach.” Dr. Dave Camwell, Associate Professor of Saxophone — Troy University
